Osborn shoes.

I thought I'd share these shoes by Osborn design studio as they are all quite snazzy and are produced sustainably in Guatemala City. Here's a quote from their site:

"We work personally with our production team in Guatemala City, to ensure high quality handcrafted shoes - fair trade with locally sourced materials. We currently have 21 artisans employed full-time. We hope to grow always. Each and every shoe represents not only a quality cool fashionable statement, but also a step in the right direction in respects to world employment and sourcing standards - we believe it is ever more important to know where your valuables come from."

Not a book.

I really enjoy all the books produced by Keri Smith. She is quite clever and her work inspires creativity. I like it very much.

The making of fantastic mr. fox.

I really adore all of Wes Anderson's movies. They always make me yearn for adventure. I also have a soft spot for all of Roald Dahl's work. Thus, Fantastic Mr. Fox is a favourite film of mine and the artistry behind it was incredible. Here is a gorgeous book compiled by Angus Hyland that documents the creative process behind the film: 'The Making of Fantastic Mr. Fox'.

So enamored.

Vancouver Guide: Collage Collage

There is an excellent little gem that has recently opened in Vancouver that provides a creative outlet for kids. Collage Collage is a shop that sells creative supplies (and goodies from local designers) as well as hosts workshops (and birthday parties) for kids age 3-12. It is a genius idea from local artist and teacher Erin Boniferro.

Project Runway: Janeane Marie

I enjoyed the last episode of Project Runway. I do not have cable so I usually try to catch each episode online (and often not until Friday) so I am always a little behind. Some of the dresses they made out of potato sacks were astonishing. I also read an article on etsy about one of the contestants, Janeane Marie. I especially like the styling in these shots from her etsy shop. Looking forward to see what she will produce on the show.

Courtney Roby Sage Jewelry.

I really love these earrings by Courtney based in Portland. So unique.

Isn't this customizable type scarf from Lost Values great? I love how subtle the type is.

Valentine Gift Guide: Friends: Part I: Buy 'em!

A cute and season appropriate coin purse.

How about a heart shaped mug to remind your coworkers of how much you love and appreciate them?

A perfect, tiny heart ring.

A dainty pocket mirror with gemma correll illustration.

A heart box, perfect for hiding secrets.

A fine pair of soft and warm gloves. No one likes cold hands!

That's all for the gift guides this week. Come back next week to find our home-made gift suggestions.

Things my cat likes.

While Marty spends most of his time sleeping, terrorizing us while we're sleeping and trying to get into boxes that are much too small for him, he does find some time to read some literature. Here are some of his favourites.

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint Exupery

Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.

The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins (a great mystery)

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (He's read it three times. He does not, however, like the film)

Love these radios by areaware.

Valentine Gift Guide: Ladies: Part I: Buy 'em!

Of course this guide is a little fuller, as these are all things I would like for Valentines Day (or for whatever occasion).

A Fuji Instax camera. I love the look of these (like combining a polaroid with a cloud).

Flowers. You really can't go wrong (except I have an aversion to red roses -- I'll take yellow please).

A delicate monogram necklace with her initial (or yours).

This tote. I have always loved daschunds.

These headphones are perfect. Any colour please.

Repetto Flats. (Okay I admit, this might be wishful thinking).

Perfect little stud earrings by Carla Caruso.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my dear old Dad's birthday. I say, Happy Birthday to him! My dad loves to cycle - so quite appropriately I think, we should see some cycle-inspired goods, don't you think?

A bicycle tool kit from Brooks perfect for your pannier.

A bicycle built for two note card. (My dad actually owns a tandem bicycle, as well as folding bikes, road bikes, mountain bikes and racing bikes. He has a little bike house in the backyard).

Recycled Bike Clock.

This book. (My dad road his bicycle from the west coast of Canada to the east coast, he is a pretty neat guy).
